Opera Birmingham's all-time biggest hit is revived by popular demand after 2 sold-out performances in 2005! The timeless story of a love triangle set in ancient Egypt pits the daughter of the King, Amneris, against her slave, Aida. The brave soldier, Radames, is the object of their mutual affection. Fresh from singing the title role in Munich, Rome, and Verona, Opera Birmingham’s very own Kristin Lewis returns home to sing Aida for the very first time in North America. She will be joined by Company favorites Roy Cornelius Smith (Radamès) and Jane Dutton (Amneris) for what promises to be one of the best Aidas this side of the Nile! The grand and glorious Triumphal March includes one of opera's greatest choruses and may even include an elephant or two…

Alabama natives Susanna Phillips and Corey McKern return to the Opera Birmingham stage as the feuding Count and Countess Almaviva in Mozart's perfect comedy, The Marriage of Figaro. Jason Hardy and Michelle Areyzaga sing the roles of Figaro and his betrothed, Susanna. Joined by returning artists Chandra Egger, Steven Condy and Corey Trahan, Josepha Gayer, Elias Hendricks III and John Jones take their initial bows with the Company. Lester Seigel leads the ASO and Opera Birmingham Chorus in this musical and comedic delight. Witty comedy, tender romance, sublime music…Mozart’s timeless masterpiece has something for everyone!
