Ways to Give
The annual fund provides over 60% of the Company’s annual operating revenues, while ticket sales account for roughly a third of our income each season. Gifts of any amount are greatly appreciated and may be made by check, credit card or a gift of securities such as stocks or mutual funds. You may also consider making a gift in memory or honor of someone special.
The Impresario Circle was created in 2005 to recognize major donors who make a gift of $1,500 or more annually to Opera Birmingham. In addition to recognition in the season program, Impresario Circle members are honored at an exclusive annual dinner with the stars of one of our productions. A special keepsake remembrance is created each season for these generous contributors, as well. Please contact the Opera Birmingham office at 205-322-6737 for more information and to join the Impresario Circle.
Those individuals who indicate that a planned gift to Opera Birmingham is part of their estate plans will be recognized during their lifetimes as a member of the Bel Canto Society. A special annual event will be planned just for those generous donors who choose to perpetuate their support of Opera Birmingham in this extraordinary way. For more information, please email Keith Wolfe at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call the Opera Birmingham office at 205-322-6737.
Created by a generous bequest from Ora Lee and J. Ernest Hill, the Opera Birmingham Endowment Fund is held and managed by the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham. The Community Foundation currently manages charitable assets in excess of $125 million for the benefit of the community. The Opera Birmingham Endowment Fund provides a lasting and significant source of funding for our productions each and every season. Dedicated, named funds are available for endowment gifts of $25,000 or more. In most cases, gifts to the Endowment Fund come in the form of bequests and legacies made in the form of cash, life insurance proceeds, securities and real property. Charitable remainder trusts which provide lifetime income—at very favorable interest rates—for the donor and ultimately benefit the Opera are also available through the Community Foundation.
