Saturday, October 4, 2025 11 AM and 2 PM
Avondale Park Amphitheater
This classic children’s story comes to life through the music and familiar melodies by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Adapted for the opera stage by John Davies, three young pigs have to figure out how to build a house to protect themselves from the Big Bad Wolf. While two of the pigs just want to play and have fun, Despina Pig goes to the library and learns how to build a strong house to protect her friends. With a tale that promotes problem-solving, resilience, and the importance of literacy as a tool for facing challenges, children and adults alike will be drawn in by this colorful and engaging production.
The performance length is approximately 40 minutes with no intermission, and sung in English.

Pagliacci / cavalleria rusticana
Friday, April 17, 2026 at 7:30 PM
Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 2:30 PM
Dorothy Jemison Day Theater at ASFA
Back-to-back tales of love, betrayal, and revenge create a dramatic evening of emotional theatre—a powerful double-bill of verismo classics—Pagliacci and Cavalleria Rusticana.
In Cavalleria Rusticana, a soldier returns home to discover the woman he loves has married another. One Easter morning, simmering tensions boil over in a small Sicilian village—with tragic consequences. Then in Pagliacci, a traveling clown must perform while grappling with real-life heartbreak and betrayal. As the lines between stage and reality blur, a shocking finale unfolds before the audience’s eyes.
With sweeping melodies, gripping drama, and raw emotion, this is opera at its most visceral. Join us for a night of love, jealousy, and heartbreak you won’t forget.
