Bring the excitement of opera to your classroom with a visit from our Teaching Artist! Your students will learn about opera through music, movement, and fun games with Miss Scott. Visits occur within your music schedule over one week or rotation, and a variety of workshops available for Kindergarten through 6th grade means there’s something for everyone!

Emily Scott is a certified elementary music teacher who is active throughout the greater Birmingham area. She holds a Bachelors and Masters in Music Education from Samford University. Emily is experienced in teaching music in a classroom and individual lesson setting, and she is fully certified in the Orff Shulwerk method. Emily has also attended conferences and workshops for AMEA, AOSA, and Kodály. She has been a presenter for two panels for AMEA, offering guidance on how to be a successful student teacher and first-year teacher. Emily is currently the Children’s Choir Coordinator at Meadow Brook Baptist Church and offers private voice and piano instruction through her lesson studio.
