Grandma's house has never been this chaotic.
Forest Ranger Dudley has a problem: he's far too shy to ask Little Red's mother to the Forest Ranger Ball. So he does the sensible thing and hides an invitation in a basket of flowers — which promptly gets delivered to the wrong house. Granny, who has always had a weakness for a man in uniform, takes matters into her own hands. Before the morning is out, Dudley has mysteriously misplaced his trousers, the Wolf has been kissed, Mom has run out of patience, and Little Red is in trouble. Everybody, one way or another, has a very unusual day indeed.
Sung in English and set to glorious music from the operas of Rossini and Offenbach, this family-friendly 40-minute production is the perfect first opera — short enough for wiggly attention spans, funny enough for the grown-ups, and full of tunes you'll be humming on the drive home. Underneath the slapstick is a story every family knows: the world has a few wolves in it, Mother knows best, and it's good to have people who look out for you.
Bring the kids. Bring the grandparents. Bring snacks.
