Catch a Rising Star features Nicholas Ward, the winner of our 2019 Vocal Competition, in an intimate recital. Previous competition winners have included a number of artists who have gone on to international careers, with this concert providing valuable exposure and experience for the rising generation of opera stars. Hailed as a performer of “effortless voice and agile presence” (Houston Press), Nicholas is quickly becoming known for his versatility, swift comic timing, and warm and expressive voice.
