Opera Shots is our annual series of casual pop-up concerts throughout the community, held in unexpected places and designed to break down the stereotypes of opera. Opera Shots concerts feature members of the Opera Birmingham Chorus and surprise guest artists presenting an open-mic-style concert of the greatest hits of opera and musical theatre. In the age of COVID-19, Opera Birmingham is adapting and ready to continue bringing innovative entertainment opportunities to our community, so this season’s Opera Shots are mobile outdoor concerts!

Admission is free. Bring your own refreshments. Lawn chairs and coolers are welcome. For the health of our patrons, staff and performers, masks are required at the event, and social distancing will be in effect.

The April 25th Opera Shots will feature guest artists, Savannah Bracewell, George Edwards, Chris Farley, Samuel Robertson, Joseph Robinson, Joylyn Rushing, and Lauren Tinsley, accompanied by John Robertson on piano. The performance will include selections from Carmen, The Elixir of Love, The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, and My Fair Lady, among others.

Opera Shots is sponsored by EcoLogical Insulation of Birmingham, LLC, Medical Properties Trust, Inc., and VIVA Health, Inc., with additional support from Red Mountain Theatre Company.
